Statement of Covenant: As a Christian community of faith, our ecumenical Vacation Bible School pledges to conduct this ministry of the Gospel in ways that assure the safety and spiritual growth of all our children and youth, as well as the volunteers who work with them. We ask all of our volunteers and staff to join in our committment of preserving our churches as Holy places of safety and protection. Please read the following covenant statements regarding your work with our VBS children and youth. Read carefully and check "yes" or "no" to each statement.

I agree to observe the Two Person Rule at all times. This means that at least two volunteers, one of whom shall be an adult, will be with any child at all times.

I will immediately discuss any abusive or inappropriate behavior with someone from the Leadership Team AND a Pastor. Do not share sensitive information or behavior issues with your peers. It only amplifies the problem and makes the children involved feel unsafe.

I will attend the Mandatory Volunteer Orientation. I will be fully trained before the start of VBS regarding expectations for me in my role at VBS. This will be communicated with you months before the start of VBS.

I will attend a Youth Assistant wrap up session for 15 minutes after my VBS session everyday. This includes a debriefing and information you need to know for the next day.

Release from Liability/Property Agreement

I, as a volunteer of VBS, understand that many activities are happening at the Living Waters United Methodist Church. I understand that while on the property of any of the churches, I will be covered by that church's liability insurance if something were to go wrong with the building or equipment that belongs to that building. However, for personal transport or off-site activities , I understand that insurance coverage will be my responsibility. I further expressly authorize and consent to any medical care by qualified medical personnel for myself, if necessary, because of illness or injury.
